Envelope capacity
† The maximum letter size is 999 pages. Letters that exceed the C4 envelope capacity are sent as parcels.
How pages are printed
A page is one side of a physical sheet of paper. Double-sided printing allows two pages to be printed on one sheet.
Each attachment starts on a new sheet, even if the back of the previous sheet is blank.
The recipient’s address is printed on the back of the final sheet. If that side already contains content, an extra sheet is added at no extra cost. The address is printed on the back of this extra sheet, and the front is left blank.
Example: a letter with two attachments
A three-page letter, a one-page attachment and a two-page attachment are printed double-sided. These six pages require five sheets, including the extra sheet for the address.
| Sheet | Front | Back |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Letter — page 1 | Letter — page 2 |
| 2 | Letter — page 3 | Blank |
| 3 | Attachment 1 — page 1 | Blank |
| 4 | Attachment 2 — page 1 | Attachment 2 — page 2 |
| 5 (added at no extra cost) | Blank | Recipient’s address |
